Matt Anderson, Rock&Blues Artist

Please visit Matt Anderson's website, http://www.stubbyfingers.ca/

Matt is a great Atlantic Canadian Musician. Recently played with John Campbelljohn at Stayner's Wharf, here in Halifax.

Matt Andersen began his music career in early 2002 with the New Brunswick band FLAT TOP which achieved substantial success and a loyal following on a regional level.
Shortly thereafter, Matt decided to take an alternate path; this is where his solo career began.
Matt's sprawling blues, roots, and rock musical hybrid, coupled with his grand, honey-tinged voice, and enigmatic showmanship has been earning him a fervent grass roots following wherever he graces the stage.
This was certainly evident at the 2004 East Coast Music Awards (ECMA's) where Matt played to a packed house at both industry show cases. Standing ovations erupted in a feverish euphoria as critics praised and lifelong fans were won over.
That momentum spread throughout that summer as Matt's seamlessly eclectic, raw, and pure sonic bliss had fans clamoring to catch him live on festival stages around the Maritimes. These festival highlights included: THE STAN ROGERS FESTIVAL IN Nova Scotia, THE SAINT JOHN JAZZ & BLUES, and HARVEST JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVALS IN New Brunswick. In early 2005, all this was topped off by a nomination for BEST BLUES RECORDING for this year's ECMA's with a series of prominent industry showcases to be held in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Now, as Matt's audience swells to encompass CANADA and beyond its borders, he is in the midst of preparing material for his upcoming sophomore record that promises to be rich and varied and "A MUST HAVE" for his ever-growing fan base. Matt also has plans for a heavy touring schedule combined with an aggressive promotional plan that his new management is initiating upon release of the new record.
Stay tuned; a musical force has erupted and a blockbuster career artist has emerged!!

Matt heads out west in the new year for dates in Alberta, B. C., and the Yukon. His upcoming Atlantic Canadian events are as follows;

I have a passion for blues music and it was great to hear one of the best. Please take the time and get down to see John and his band play. John will be appearing with Matt Anderson, on the 15th of December at Stayner's Wharf, here in Halifax. Matt has been one of my favorites for awhile. "I always look forward to a new recording from John Campbelljohn, and Weight of the World is his best yet. From the opening track Autobahn John to Sydney Steel to a great re-make of an older tune How Does It Feel to the best cover yet of Little Wing - played on pedal steel - this one rocks! It should come as no surprise that European blues fans have embraced John's superb slide playing and authentic vocal style. First rate all the way!" Stan Carew - CBC/Atlantic Airwaves

"The new CD is excellent. I particularly enjoy Sydney Steel but Mississippi Queen, Little Wing are strong, strong cuts. Plus it's so well produced. Great job!" Blaine Morrison - The Blues Own - The Voice Of The Blues in Atlantic Canada

“Already considered one of the finest slide-players around, John Campbelljohn continues to be an innovator in the blues. On Weight Of The World, John’s ability to adapt the pedal steel to his driving tunes, complete with the gritty vocals and “cut-to-the-chase” songwriting, makes him a unique force on the Canadian Blues Scene…and a must-see live!” Mark Roberts - East Coast Music Show Capital FM Fredericton A four time nominee for the ECMA “Broadcaster of the Year “
