Operation Fresh Start

Have you ever purchased cosmetics to get them home and discover they are not what you really wanted? Have you ever stayed in a hotel and only used 1 or 2 of the 6 samples? Have you ever received a free cosmetic sample that just was not right for you?

If you are anything like me then you probably have a drawer full of these unwanted new or gently used products. In my house they stay there for months and sometimes years until I finally throw them away. Imagine if every person in Canada threw away only 1 bath and body product each month; that would be 384 million bottles of chemicals needlessly thrown into our landfill sites each year, not to mention the damage done by the packaging. So I decided to do something about it!

I created an organization called “Fresh Start”. Fresh start is dedicated to reducing the chemicals in landfill sites by redirecting unwanted bath and body products. Our recipients include (but are not limited to) women and children’s centres, hostiles and homeless shelters and animal rescue organizations.

So the next time you are:
· staying in a hotel with samples
· buy the wrong color cosmetics
· get a free cosmetic gift you won’t use

Please contact me so I can arrange for pick up.

Labrador, Labrador & Labrador

Labrador is where I was born and raised. It is somewhere still very near and dear to my heart. I continue to travel home as much as I can. Other than visiting family and friends, I love to fish. Again, this summer as I meet more people around the maritimes, once they learn I am from Labrador, most ask about the fishing. Yes, it is true. The fishing is that good! When I speak to friends and family home, they talk highly of Dave Hollett's Park Lake Lodge. I will be continuing to add more information and links on here as the summer begins. In the meantime, please view this link for PARK LAKE LODGE.

Trusted Care secure childcare services.

Trusted Care

Finding the perfect nanny, babysitter, or other caregiver is challenging, stressful, and time consuming. You want someone who will care about your children and enhance their lives. You need someone who is reliable and trustworthy.

Trusted Care takes the stress away and does the work for you. We find you a caregiver suited to your needs, interests, and beliefs. We screen the caregiver (police record, child abuse registry, and driving records), check all references, verify first aid and CPR, and interview extensively. We make sure they have experience and a genuine love for taking care of children. The most unique aspect of Trusted Care is that we provide the caregiver with resources and training in leisure, recreation and education based play, professionalism, ethics, nutrition, and safe food handling. The goal is to enhance your child’s time with the caregiver, enrich their lives, and help develop healthy habits.

Trusted Care is owned and operated by myself, Krystol Bell. I have always worked with children and love providing valuable opportunities for them. I have a degree in Recreation Management from Acadia University. This program gave me hands on experience with running programs, facilitating, business management, leisure education, leisure behaviour, recreation programming, and much more. I ran a youth/children’s sailing school in Yarmouth for five summers through the recreation department. I have worked as caregiver for many families in Kings County. I have also provided special needs care for many families in Kings County. I have run several other programs for children including Girls on the Move, wilderness camping and survival, outdoor ethics and more. I have volunteered as a Beaver Leader in Canning N.S. for the past two years and have been involved in various other children’s events and programs. I am currently working with a few wonderful families in the area and absolutely adore the children. I can not imagine a job that I would enjoy more!

I realized there was a need for this service after providing care for several families in the area. I was constantly being asked if I had any time to work with other families or if I knew anyone else who was available.

My goal is to help families find the perfect caregiver and to help caregivers find a job they love and value. I believe in promoting active and healthy lifestyles so children will form healthy habits. By providing caregivers with resources and activities geared towards active and educational childcare I hope to ensure children have an incredible time while learning and growing. I hope to see caregivers and parents working together to provide valuable experiences for the children.

I am dedicated to making your family happy. I will do everything I can to make sure you have a wonderful experience with your caregiver.

Matt Anderson, Rock&Blues Artist

Please visit Matt Anderson's website, http://www.stubbyfingers.ca/

Matt is a great Atlantic Canadian Musician. Recently played with John Campbelljohn at Stayner's Wharf, here in Halifax.

Matt Andersen began his music career in early 2002 with the New Brunswick band FLAT TOP which achieved substantial success and a loyal following on a regional level.
Shortly thereafter, Matt decided to take an alternate path; this is where his solo career began.
Matt's sprawling blues, roots, and rock musical hybrid, coupled with his grand, honey-tinged voice, and enigmatic showmanship has been earning him a fervent grass roots following wherever he graces the stage.
This was certainly evident at the 2004 East Coast Music Awards (ECMA's) where Matt played to a packed house at both industry show cases. Standing ovations erupted in a feverish euphoria as critics praised and lifelong fans were won over.
That momentum spread throughout that summer as Matt's seamlessly eclectic, raw, and pure sonic bliss had fans clamoring to catch him live on festival stages around the Maritimes. These festival highlights included: THE STAN ROGERS FESTIVAL IN Nova Scotia, THE SAINT JOHN JAZZ & BLUES, and HARVEST JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVALS IN New Brunswick. In early 2005, all this was topped off by a nomination for BEST BLUES RECORDING for this year's ECMA's with a series of prominent industry showcases to be held in Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Now, as Matt's audience swells to encompass CANADA and beyond its borders, he is in the midst of preparing material for his upcoming sophomore record that promises to be rich and varied and "A MUST HAVE" for his ever-growing fan base. Matt also has plans for a heavy touring schedule combined with an aggressive promotional plan that his new management is initiating upon release of the new record.
Stay tuned; a musical force has erupted and a blockbuster career artist has emerged!!

Matt heads out west in the new year for dates in Alberta, B. C., and the Yukon. His upcoming Atlantic Canadian events are as follows;

Thank-you for dropping by the Blog again. I have had the pleasure to listen to and meet John Campbelljohn a couple weeks ago. I have a passion for blues music and it was great to hear one of the best. Please take the time and get down to see John and his band play. John will be appearing with Matt Anderson, on the 15th of December at Stayner's Wharf, here in Halifax. Matt has been one of my favorites for awhile. "I always look forward to a new recording from John Campbelljohn, and Weight of the World is his best yet. From the opening track Autobahn John to Sydney Steel to a great re-make of an older tune How Does It Feel to the best cover yet of Little Wing - played on pedal steel - this one rocks! It should come as no surprise that European blues fans have embraced John's superb slide playing and authentic vocal style. First rate all the way!" Stan Carew - CBC/Atlantic Airwaves

"The new CD is excellent. I particularly enjoy Sydney Steel but Mississippi Queen, Little Wing are strong, strong cuts. Plus it's so well produced. Great job!" Blaine Morrison - The Blues Own - The Voice Of The Blues in Atlantic Canada

“Already considered one of the finest slide-players around, John Campbelljohn continues to be an innovator in the blues. On Weight Of The World, John’s ability to adapt the pedal steel to his driving tunes, complete with the gritty vocals and “cut-to-the-chase” songwriting, makes him a unique force on the Canadian Blues Scene…and a must-see live!” Mark Roberts - East Coast Music Show Capital FM Fredericton A four time nominee for the ECMA “Broadcaster of the Year “
